About Clark Fork Hideaway

Rooted in the History of Turah, Montana

Welcome to Clark Fork Hideaway, a small, peaceful RV retreat nestled in the community of Turah, Montana, just east of Missoula, Montana. While our park offers modern comforts and a quiet place to unwind, the land around us carries a rich Montana story that stretches back more than a century.

The Story of Turah

Turah began as a small railroad and milling community in the late 1800s. The arrival of the Northern Pacific Railway played a major role in shaping the area, connecting western Montana to the rest of the country and supporting the region’s timber industry.

In its early days, Turah was home to sawmills, railroad workers, and families drawn to the promise of opportunity in Montana’s growing frontier. The nearby Clark Fork River provided both natural beauty and economic lifeblood to the community, supporting logging operations and serving as a travel corridor long before modern highways were built.

Though Turah remains a small and quiet community today, its history reflects the hardworking, resilient spirit that defines much of western Montana.
